Privacy Policy

This page explains what boringparts.net collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 30 August 2026.

Who runs this site

boringparts.net is an independent publication. The site address is https://boringparts.net/. For anything on this page, write to kyounghee.yonsei@gmail.com.

What we collect

We do not ask you to register, and there is no login for readers. Comments are turned off across the site, so no comment data is stored.

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records the usual request data — IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, and the time. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting and are not used to build reader profiles.
  • Email you send us. If you write to the address above, we keep the message so we can reply and correct the article in question. Nothing more is done with it.

We do not sell reader data, and we do not run newsletters, contact forms, or tracking pixels of our own.

Cookies

The site itself sets one cookie: your language preference, so that a return visit lands on the version you last read. It expires after a year and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Advertising cookies are described in the next section.

Advertising

This site displays advertising served by Google.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Google’s own explanation of how it uses data from sites that display its ads is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Embedded content

Articles sometimes link out to other sites, and images may be served from their original source. Those sites collect data as if you had visited them directly, under their own policies. We have no control over that.

How long data is kept

Server logs are rotated by the hosting provider on their schedule. Email correspondence is kept until the matter is closed. Advertising cookies are governed by Google’s retention policy, linked above.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to its use. Since we hold almost nothing beyond server logs and any email you chose to send, this is usually a short conversation. Write to kyounghee.yonsei@gmail.com and we will answer within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
