Updated October 13, 2026. The September changes affect three different things: the satellite channel lineup, the schedule of new live Howard Stern shows, and a separate video edition on HBO Max. Treating those as one change makes it sound as if Howard Stern left SiriusXM or Radio Andy took over his show. The official announcements say neither.
What changed, at a glance
| What you mean | What SiriusXM announced | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Howard Stern’s main radio home | Howard 100 remains channel 100. | Look for Howard 100 in your receiver or SiriusXM app. |
| Howard 101 | It leaves the September 1 channel lineup. That describes the channel lineup; it does not by itself establish that every Howard archive disappeared from the app. | Search the app for a specific show or collection instead of assuming channel removal means archive deletion. |
| Radio Andy | Moves from channel 102 to channel 101. | Update a saved preset if you listen by satellite radio. |
| New live Howard Stern episodes | SiriusXM announced new shows live on Mondays beginning September 14. | Use SiriusXM for the live radio show; check the current in-app schedule for the latest timing. |
| Video edition | An adapted version of the live show, with periodic extras, was announced for HBO Max on Thursdays beginning September 17. | Check HBO Max availability in your country and plan. This is a separate streaming service. |
The dates and channel numbers above come from SiriusXM’s own September lineup notice and August 31 show announcement. They are announcements and lineup facts, not a claim that every listener receives every feature in every country or subscription package.
Radio Andy did not replace Howard Stern
The channel numbers tell the story: Howard 100 stayed at 100, Howard 101 left the lineup, and Radio Andy moved from 102 into 101. That is a lineup reshuffle, not Andy Cohen taking over Howard Stern’s main channel or show. SiriusXM’s current channel guide still lists Howard 100 at channel 100 and Radio Andy at 101.
There is a useful distinction for listeners who used Howard 101 for older material. “The channel is no longer in the lineup” and “all archived episodes were deleted” are different claims. The September lineup notice confirms the first; it does not say the second. SiriusXM also announced new ways to browse Howard’s past shows and a “Howard Stern Decades” area in its app. Search for the particular program in your own app and check whether it is available under your subscription.
Live radio and HBO Max are two versions of the show
SiriusXM’s August 31 announcement set out a Monday live show starting September 14. It also said 40 cameras would capture the conversation so SiriusXM could adapt it into a streamable HBO Max episode, with occasional extra material. The company announced Thursday releases beginning September 17. That wording matters: the HBO Max program is an edited video adaptation, not necessarily a complete, simultaneous video feed of the radio broadcast.
If you want the live radio program, the announced home is SiriusXM. If you want the video edition, check HBO Max separately. One subscription should not be assumed to include the other, and availability can vary by market. The public announcement does not provide a combined-plan price or say that HBO Max replaces SiriusXM.
Why SiriusXM pages can look inconsistent
As checked October 13, SiriusXM’s lineup notice identifies Howard 100 as channel 100 and Radio Andy as channel 101. The Howard 100 page also describes weekday listening as replays “around the clock,” while the August announcement describes new live shows on Mondays. These statements can coexist: weekday replay programming is not the same as new live episodes. SiriusXM’s public page does not spell out every day’s full schedule, so use the schedule shown in your account or app for day-to-day listening.
The company separately said Stern’s exclusive live show and library would remain with SiriusXM through 2028. That is a contract-duration statement, not a guarantee that the weekly schedule will never change.
A quick checklist before changing your subscription
- Only looking for Howard’s live show? Confirm that Howard 100 appears in your SiriusXM receiver or app and review the current show schedule.
- Looking for older episodes? Search the app by show, guest, or decade. Do not infer archive deletion from the removal of a channel number.
- Want the video version? Check HBO Max’s local catalog and your account’s plan before subscribing. The announcement describes a separate streaming destination.
- Can’t find a channel? Check whether you are viewing the satellite lineup or the app lineup; SiriusXM notes that displayed channels can depend on listening method and account settings.
- Considering cancellation? Compare what you actually listen to with the channels and on-demand titles in your own account. Current plan prices, introductory offers, taxes, and fees change, so check the provider’s checkout page rather than relying on old price tables.
Bottom line
Howard Stern’s main channel remained Howard 100; Radio Andy moved to channel 101 after Howard 101 left the lineup. SiriusXM announced Monday live episodes and a separate adapted HBO Max video edition. If the change affects a purchase decision, verify your own SiriusXM lineup, archive access, local HBO Max catalog, and current plan terms first.
